ARTISTRHI UPDATES | the month in review. rhi-view, if you will. part i.

The winter season is typically a quieter time of the year for make-up, but thankfully it’s actually been quite a busy time getting settled into a new place, working on some exciting projects with absolutely inspiring individuals, and of course….doing make-up with some seriously cool peeps!!

Here’s a quick overview of what I’ve been up to the past few weeks:

Umes Boutique (www.umesboutique.com)

Umes Boutique is truly a labour of love for jewellery design talent, Umy K.  Umy’s pieces are meticulously crafted and individually unique.  I love the edgy appeal to her Fall collection…so much so that I made sure to purchase a couple of her necklaces for my own collection.

What you should know: 15% of all Umes Boutique’s proceeds goes towards the International Justice Mission to assist casework on sexual violence and forced prostitution in Southeast Asia.  I’m all about uniting what you love to do with giving back, and it was an absolute pleasure to work with Umy and her team.  (Thanks Umy!)

Brett Wilson Photoshoot with City Life Magazine (www.citylifemagazine.ca)

Speaking of paying it forward, the issue of City Life Magazine with established Canadian business mogul and big-hearted philantropist Brett Wilson (yes, of CBC’s Dragons’ Den fame) is now available!!  The latest issue features Brett on the cover, photographed by the amazing Dean West and grooming by yours truly :)

(yes, I blew up the credits so I can show my mom!)

The article on Brett provides insight on the resident ‘friendly’ Dragon – there’s plenty of good material, but one of my fave lines of his from the article:
” No act of charity is too small so you never belittle any action of any kind and always encourage any action.”

Definitely an inspiring article about an inspiring person!  Get your copy or check out City Life Mag online :)

….so as it turns out, this month in rhi-view thing is going to require a couple more posts….stay tuned!!

Welcome to my journal and journey as a make-up and hair artist with all the beautiful people and products I encounter along the way.
