Last month I had the opportunity to work on a lookbook shoot for designer Eric Tong.  Eric is actually a fellow UW grad and has a degree in Architecture.  I love how the influence of his study in Architecture carried over to his talent and love for fashion design.  Check out his stuff on Not Just A Label.

ON SET | artistrhi x Charlaine Harris for HBO Canada’s True Blood

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of doing make-up with HBO Canada for a press day with the delightful Charlaine Harris.  Charlaine is the author behind the Sookie Stackhouse series of books that inspired the HBO hit show True Blood (maybe you’ve heard of it?!!!).  ;)

I have been fortunate to work with such amazing clients on-set and Charlaine was no exception (in fact she is probably one of the nicest!). From the get-go, I was engaged by her charming Southern accent, her ease of conversation and obviously her natural talent for words!  She made each interview seem different and interesting in the way that she answered the questions she was asked…and that’s no easy feat!!  But then again, that’s exactly why she’s a best-selling author.  :)

ON SET | Small Business Tips with TD Canada Trust

One of the things I love most about what I do is that I’m always learning…whether it’s getting to know more about the people I work with, learning more tips about make-up + hair (yes, there’s tons to know!!) or picking up useful strategies that I can apply to my own work/life…there’s definitely always something to be gained from each new experience.

If you’re an aspiring make-up artist/fellow entrepreneur, you may want to check out the upcoming webinar by TD Canada Trust for small business.  The webinar takes place on June 7th, 2011 and features engaging content on how to take your business plan to take the next level.  The webinar showcases the success stories of two entrepreneurs….and both are female!

So why the plug?!  Well, aside from it being useful info for fellow aspiring entrepreneurs, I worked on the behind the scenes doing make-up for Susan Ho (Tea Aura Inc.), Julie Cole (Mabel’s Labels) and Shane from (TD Canada Trust)….so needless to say, I’m also curious to see the final product…and of course, it never hurts to reinforce that learning!  Enjoy. :)
